Food & Drink
The first thing you’ll notice when you walk into the Brambles Cafe & Bistro will be the homely and inviting atmosphere, the second will be the subtle aroma of beautiful local produce.
Both our modern and traditional cuisine is made using only the best of local produce, served in a charming Scottish restaurant with a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.
We use only the best coffee, arguably the best in town. Our coffee is delivered from Matthew Algie in Glasgow, and boy, are they serious about coffee! They created the world’s first triple certified coffee – approved by the Fairtrade Foundation, Rainforest Alliance and Organic Food Federation. Our particular blend, Darwin, uses beans from Peru, Ethiopia and Honduras and is bright, cheeky and endlessly fruity. It has a lovely sweet, fragrant aroma and a nicely balanced body.
Matthew Algie also supply us with Suki Loose Leaf, winner of multiple ‘Great Taste Awards’. This big leaf tea packs a big flavour punch, and is a favourite with artisinal tea lovers.
We like to keep things local where we can. The black pudding and lorne sausage found in our Full Scottish come from Grant’s the butcher in Taynuilt. Our smoked salmon comes from award-winning Inverawe Smokehouse, and to wash it all down, we have delicious lagers and ales from Fyne Ales, just a few miles down the road in Cairndow.
For those with a sweet tooth, our baker is kept busy throughout the day producing fruit scones, delicious sponges, apple and bramble pies, decadent caramel short-cake and plenty of other options (all calorie free, of course!).
Informality is the order of the day at Brambles – we create a relaxed dining atmosphere to make all of our patrons feel comfortable and at ease – combined with our friendly and efficient serving staff, we know you will enjoy the dining experience as much as you will the food.
