Where is Brambles located?

Brambles is located across several properties in Inveraray, Argyll.  Brambles Cafe & Bistro and Brambles West are at 5 Main Street West (A83), Brambles East is located directly across Main Street from Brambles West.  Quay Apartment can be found on Quay Close, just a two minute walk from the Cafe & Bistro.  The A83 is the main thoroughfare between Glasgow and Campbelltown.  All Brambles properties are conveniently located for all the town has to offer.    

Where do we check in?

You can check in at Brambles Cafe & Bistro between 3pm and 6pm.  After 6pm, please ring the bell located at Brambles Cafe & Bistro door and allow the Duty Manager a moment to reach you.  They will then take you through the check in process.  Alternatively, we can provide instructions for a self check-in after 6pm.

What is provided in Brambles Rooms?

All rooms are equipped with hospitality trays containing tea and coffee making facilities, and toiletries from The Scottish Soap Company.

What is provided in the Attic Apartment?

The Attic Apartment has a small kitchen equipped with a cooker, hob, dishwasher, fridge and kettle as well as crockery and basic utensils.  Linen and towels are supplied. Toiletries from The Scottish Soap Company are also provided. 

Is Attic Apartment serviced?

Yes, if booked on a bed and breakfast basis.

No, if booked on a self-catering basis.

What is provided in Quay Apartment?

Quay Apartment is a home-from-home, and therefore is equipped with everything you would expect for a longer stay, i.e., cooker, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, American fridge/freezer, coffee machine, iron, ironing board, clothes horse, vacuum cleaner.  The Apartment also has a log fire.  In the winter season, a bucket full of coal and logs will be provided at the start of your stay.  Should this run out, more can be purchased from the local supermarkets.  Linen and towels are supplied.  Toiletries from The Scottish Soap Company are also provided.

Is Quay Apartment serviced?

No as Quay Apartment is let on a self-catering, longer term basis. However, should you require more linen during your stay, please do let us know.

Is a minimum stay required at Quay Apartment?

Yes.  There is a minimum 3 night stay required when booking Quay Apartment.

When is check-in?

You can check-in from 3pm. Please let us know if you expect to arrive after 8pm. 

When is check-out?

Check out is at 11am.

Are there staff on call 24/7?

Yes. Staff are on duty in Brambles Cafe & Bistro until 6pm. After this time, the Duty Manager can be reached by calling +44 (0)1499 302252 at any time, for any eventualities.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes.  Dogs are welcome to stay in Quay Apartment only.

Does Brambles have a car-park?

No, we do not have our own car-park at Brambles.  However, parking on Main Street is free and unrestricted.  There are several pay and display car-parks in Inveraray.  Please note, these car-parks are free to use between November and March.

Does Brambles have Wi-Fi?

Brambles has free WI-Fi in both the Cafe & Bistro and throughout all our Rooms.  The current max speed is 7mbps, so not exactly speedy!  However, this is set to change in late 2016 as the Scottish Government aims to rollout fibre broadband across rural areas.

Are toiletries provided in the room?

Yes. Shampoo, body wash and hand wash from The Scottish Soap Company are provided in the bathrooms.

Is there a hair-dryer in the room?

Yes. A hair-dryer is provided in all the accommodations.

Do you have a lift?

No. There is no lift in either Brambles East or Brambles West. The accommodation is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of Brambles West, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of Brambles East. Quay Apartment is located on the first floor of Quay House. 

Can I get a late check-out?

Upon request.

When/how do I pay?

This is dependant upon your booking method. 

If booked directly through our own website, or by emailing or calling us directly then the first night’s payment is taken as a deposit (i.e., if only staying for one night, full payment is taken).  Any remaining balance is to be paid at check in.

If booked via a 3rd party website (booking.com, Expedia, LateRooms, etc.,), then card details are taken by the 3rd party and the card is pre-authorised.  The card may be charged on arrival date by us (this settles the pre-authorisation sooner (please see below)).  If not, the balance is due at check-in. 

I used booking.com – my card has been pre-authorised, does this mean I have paid?

No. Preauthorisation is the practice within the banking industry of authorising electronic transactions done with a debit card or credit card and holding this balance as unavailable either until the merchant clears the transaction (also called settlement), or the hold “falls off.” In the case of debit cards, authorisation holds can fall off the account (thus rendering the balance available again) anywhere from 1–8 business days after the transaction date depending on the bank’s policy; in the case of credit cards, holds may last as long as 30 days, depending on the issuing bank.

Does Brambles have a Lounge Bar?

Brambles has a Cafe & Bistro open between 8am and 5pm, where you are more than welcome to sit in and enjoy a coffee and some delicious home-baking, or a tasty lunch.

Do you provide room service?

No.

Are there hand rails in bathrooms?

No.

What is the cancellation policy?

Individual bookings:  Within 48 hours for a full refund, or, if no monies have been taken, you will be charged for the first nights stay.

Group bookings – The deposit is non-refundable.   

Can I make a Group Booking?

Yes.  If you would like to make a booking for a large group (5 rooms or more), please contact us directly for discounted rates.

Is a deposit required for a Group Booking?

Yes.  A deposit of 50% of the overall total is required at the time of booking.  The remainder of the balance is due 2 weeks before the stay date.  Both the deposit and balance are non-refundable.
